History of IYPC

It all started when…

The Interdenominational Young People’s Conference (I.Y.P.C.) began in 1932 through the efforts of a handful of clergy and laity of different denominations. The goal was to offer Christian young people the opportunity of an interdenominational church conference experience.

Always interdenominational in faculty and student body, the conference has served Methodist, Baptist, Roman Catholic, Reformed, Orthodox, Presbyterian, Mennonite, Christian Missionary Alliance and other church youth for over 80 years.

The primary emphasis has always been on knowing and serving Christ as Lord and Savior. Since its inception, many young people have entered full-time church-related vocations as a result of the conference.

--Rev. William Thielking

Rev. William Thielking was a United Methodist Minister for over 44 years. He served our conference for many years as a faculty member, conference Dean, and as a member of the IYPC Board of Directors. He was truly a man after God's own heart and we are thankful for the many lives he touched through his service to IYPC and his dedication to Jesus Christ.
